Four bases, one mushroom blend: the starting point for most mushroom latte ranges.

A private label mushroom latte is a ready-to-mix powder that combines mushroom extract with a non-coffee base such as matcha, chai, golden milk or cocoa, plus creamer, sweetener and flavor, sold under your own brand. At Herbal Treasure we make these drinks to order, starting from 500 units per product.

Mushroom coffee gets most of the attention. But many shoppers want a mushroom drink that isn’t coffee at all, whether for an afternoon cup, an evening ritual or a café-style treat. This guide covers what goes into a mushroom latte mix, the choices that shape each one, and what to ask your manufacturer before you request samples.

What Is a Private Label Mushroom Latte?

A mushroom latte is a creamy drink mix built on four layers: a base (tea, spice or cocoa), a mushroom extract blend, a creamer, and sweetness and flavor. You choose each layer, the manufacturer blends and packs the powder, and the finished product carries your brand, your label and a COA (certificate of analysis) for every batch.

Because the shopper only adds hot water or milk, a latte mix is easy to try, simple to explain on a product page and easy to sell in single servings.

Why Brands Add Mushroom Lattes Beside Coffee and Capsules

Capsules are still the core of most mushroom supplement ranges, and mushroom coffee is a natural next step. A non-coffee latte range fills the gaps that coffee leaves:

  • It reaches people who skip coffee.Tea drinkers, people who limit coffee, and anyone looking for an evening drink have a mushroom option that fits.
  • It extends one brand across the day.A morning coffee, an afternoon matcha latte and an evening cocoa can share one mushroom blend and one look.
  • It is made for content.A latte being whisked or poured is easy to film and photograph, which suits direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands and social media.
  • It works as a bundle.Stick packs make variety boxes, trial packs and gift sets simple to put together.

If coffee is your starting point, our mushroom coffee manufacturer guide covers coffee bases, drip bags and capsules. This guide focuses on everything else.

Choosing the Base: Six Directions for a Mushroom Latte

The base decides the taste, the color and how you position the drink. We make all of the bases below, and the mushroom ingredients are added to suit your formula.

Reishi Latte

Reishi (ling zhi, Ganoderma lucidum) is the best-known medicinal mushroom in traditional Chinese use. A reishi latte puts it at the center of a creamy, gently sweet drink, and it is one of our ready formulas. Organic versions are available.

Matcha Mushroom Latte

Matcha, the finely ground green tea, gives a bright green cup and a fresh, grassy taste. It pairs well with a lighter mushroom blend, and the color stands out on a shelf and on screen.

Chai and Assam Black Tea Lattes

Chai blends black tea with warm spices, while an Assam-flavored latte keeps the focus on a malty black tea taste. Both suit shoppers who like a strong, familiar cup.

Golden Milk (Turmeric) Latte

Golden milk is a turmeric-based drink, traditionally made with warm milk and spices. Our turmeric latte formula already includes mushroom ingredients, so it is a ready starting point for a golden latte.

Hojicha Latte

Hojicha is a Japanese green tea roasted until it turns brown. It gives a toasty, nutty cup with a mellow, rounded flavor.

Mushroom Hot Cocoa

For a chocolate drink, we work with two types of cocoa: natural cocoa, which tastes brighter and fruitier, and alkalized (Dutch-process) cocoa, which is darker and smoother. Organic cocoa is possible, and a mushroom cocoa is one of our ready formulas.

A note on labeling: matcha, chai, Assam and hojicha all come from the tea plant and contain caffeine naturally. Call these drinks “coffee-free”. Cocoa also contains a small amount of caffeine naturally, so keep “caffeine-free” for formulas that have been checked to contain none, such as a golden milk latte without tea.

Which Mushrooms Go Into a Mushroom Latte?

The mushroom blend is entirely up to you. Most latte ranges draw on the same four mushrooms used in our four-mushroom coffee:

  • Reishi(ling zhi), the classic choice for a reishi latte or cocoa
  • Lion’s mane(hou tou gu, Hericium erinaceus), often chosen for workday products
  • Cordyceps(yong chong cao, Cordyceps militaris), common in active-lifestyle ranges
  • Chaga(bai hua rong, Inonotus obliquus), a dark, earthy mushroom that grows on birch

Some brands use one mushroom per flavor, such as a reishi cocoa or a lion’s mane matcha. Others keep one blend across every drink so the range feels consistent. Both approaches work; the right one depends on how you want to tell the story on pack.

The extract matters as much as the mushroom. We extract in our own workshop and grow reishi at our own forest base in Fujian, so the extract in your latte is traceable to its source.

Creamer and Sweetener Options for Mushroom Latte Mixes

Creamer gives a latte its body, and sweetness decides whether it reads as a treat or an everyday drink.

Creamers

  • Coconut creamer, the most common plant-based choice
  • Oat creamer, for a mild, cereal-like taste
  • Traditional (dairy-based) creamer, for a classic café-style latte

Sweetness

  • Regular sweetened versions
  • Sugar-free versions, most often with monk fruit or stevia, and erythritol where it suits the formula

Plant-based creamers make it easier to build a vegan-friendly range, and sugar-free versions suit low-sugar positioning. Tell us your target market and we will match the creamer and sweetener to it.

Flavor Options for Mushroom Lattes and Cocoa

Flavor is where a latte range becomes your own. The most requested flavors are:

  • Vanilla
  • Caramel
  • Hazelnut
  • Mocha

We also make hot chocolate, cappuccino, honey, rose, citrus and Assam black tea flavors, among many others. Send us the taste profile you have in mind, or a product you admire, and we will build samples around it.

Serving Size, Packaging and Shelf Life

Flavored drinks such as lattes and cocoa usually run from 8 to 30 g per serving, depending on how much creamer and base the recipe uses. We set the serving to your brief.

Five layers, each one your choice: the options behind every mushroom latte mix.

Latte and cocoa powders are most often packed in single-serve stick packs or resealable pouches, and both can go into a retail box or gift set. Our packaging design service covers stick packs, pouches and gift boxes.

Our drink powders have a two-year shelf life. That gives you room to plan production runs, seasonal flavors and marketplace stock without racing the expiry date.

Testing a Mushroom Latte: What the COA Should Show

In a latte, the mushroom extract is only one part of a serving that is mostly base and creamer. That is why the test on the finished drink matters more than the test on the raw extract.

At Herbal Treasure:

  • Finished lattes and cocoa can be tested for polysaccharides or beta-glucan, so the marker on your spec sheet is checked after blending.
  • Our in-house lab tests every batch for active content, heavy metals and microbiology, and runs genetic identification on mushroom species.
  • Third-party testing is available on request, with the lab fee paid by the client.

Not sure which marker to put on the label? Our guide to beta-glucan vs polysaccharides explains the difference.

We hold NSF cGMP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP, USDA Organic, EU Organic and Canada Organic certifications, as well as Halal and Kosher, each within the scope of its certificate. A mushroom latte may be sold as a food or as a dietary supplement depending on the market, and that choice changes the label. See our mushroom supplement compliance guide for the US, Canada and the EU.

From Formula to First Order

You can start a private label mushroom latte in one of two ways:

  • ODM:pick a ready formula from our library of more than 5,000, such as the reishi latte, turmeric latte or mushroom cocoa, then adjust the mushrooms, base, sweetness and flavor.
  • OEM:bring your own formula and we source the raw materials.

Both start from 500 units per product. Standard samples take 5–7 days and custom samples 7–14 days. Standard production takes 15–20 days, and deep customization 4–6 weeks. Label review and marketplace approval add time of their own, so our supplement manufacturing timeline is worth reading before you set a launch date.
